My new #fortifiedfriday clip!

fortifiedfriday:

#fortifiedfriday - This week I’m tasting a young vintage port from Duorum. The project started in 2007 which makes it a very young project. But behind the project is a team with a long history in wine making. So, let’s pop open this port and see what it’s all about.

fortifiedfriday:

#fortifiedfriday - Today we’re tasting a port style fortified wine from South Africa from a producer called Monis. Fortified wine production has been around in South Africa for quite a while so they’re no newbies in the matter. I suggest you find some fortified juice from SA…bru!

Some wines I had during my trip to Portugal on 8.-17.12.2010.

PIPER-HEIDSIECK BITCHES!! Had a nice evening with Christian ( <- freakin’ cool guy) from Piper-Heidsieck here in Helsinki. It’s always great to share good wines with like-minded people. Champagne is rarely bad and this night was no exception. The Rare 2002 made my day. Not a bad tuesday, not at all.

Wines we tasted:

  • Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve
  • Piper-Heidsieck Rare 2002 (we were amongst the first Finnish peeps to taste this)
  • Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires 1995
  • Piper-Heidsieck Rosé Sauvage

Went to a Graham’s tasting today which was lead by one of the winemakers Mr. What’s-His-Name. The basic wines were…well, basic. But the vintage ports were quite tasty, obviously. The 1966 was my HotHotSex, vibrant fruit and all that. Still kicking like a mule. The Natura Reserve Port is new in Alko and the first organic port in the Finnish market.

All in all not a bad #winewednesday. After I ran home to have some salmon pie w/ salad and Estrella Damm Inedit. TASTY!
